Department Overview

The Transition to Practice (TTP) Residency Program is designed for New Graduate RN’s or RN’s with less than one year of experience.

The following units are participating in this cohort of the Oncology TTP Residency Program:

  • Surgical Oncology
  • Medical Oncology

Potential for 20-position combine. Subject to internal bidding

Function/Duties of Position

$52.11- $86.81 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience.

Required Qualifications

Minimum requirements for all Nurses:

  • Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) by 30 days before the start date.
    • BSN preferred
    • Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license by 1 week before the start date
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Existing OHSU workforce members are not required to have ACLS before the start date per policy HC-HR-111-POL-RR .
    • BLS and ACLS must not expire during the TTP Residency Program.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Additional Details

The intended start date is July 21, 2025, at the earliest (external & organizational internal transfer), same date or later (ONA internal transfer). Please note this date may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Length of Orientation

New Graduate Nurse: New to profession or with <1 year of experience:
  • Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Residency Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for about 10-12 weeks, depending on the care area, with an employment service agreement.
