OSAOHN Members working on GOSH 2023 (Oregon Governor's Occupational Safety and Health Conference)

OSAOHN President Jean Drevdahl-Orchid, Secretary Linda Mueleveld and Board member Kate Wood are the team leading the development of the Occupational Health and Health Care (OH/HC) tracks for GOSH 2023. Oregon's premier workplace safety and health conference is scheduled for March 3-6, 2023.  

This conference, presented in Portland since 1944, offers over 160 sessions covering a wide range of topics from industrial hygiene, safety management, driving safety, ergonomics, emergency preparedness and more. It attracts attendees from many different industries. 

The OSAOHN team sites a range of topics applicable to many industries. Sessions in the OH/HC tracks alone cover: treatment and rehab of common workplace injuries; Long COVID; Healthcare ergonomics; TBI, concussion, migraines; violence in healthcare settings; travelling employee safety and health; grief and loss, stress and burnout, among other topics. A panel will discuss lessons learned from the pandemic with experts from Public Health, Business Continuity/Readiness and Occupational Health. Occupational Health Nurses will discuss their varied roles in industries including case management, trusted advocate, health and well-being educator and program leadership. 

Stay in touch for more updates as the time for the conference draws nearer. You don't have to be an occupational health specialist to attend. The conference is designed to also educate and inform safety committee members, labor and management representatives and people interested in workplace safety.

The largest safety and health conference in the Northwest, Oregon GOSH offers educational opportunities that equal the best in the country. The event attracts nationally known speakers, offering 160 workshops and sessions and more than 125 booths showing the latest safety and health products and services. An awards ceremony and luncheon to acknowledge safety and health leaders in Oregon marks the conclusion of the conference. Past conference attendance has exceeded 2,500 people.
