2022 Recipient of the Medique Leadership Awardee Chris Murrell, Occupational Health Nurse

Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses (OSAOHN) is pleased to announce Chris Murrell, Occupational Health Nurse, is the 2022 Recipient of the Medique Leadership Award. 

Chris Murrell, Occupational Health Nurse, has been a long-time member of OSAOHN. She is an unpaid member of the Board of Directors and current Treasurer of the Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses (OSAOHN).  

Chris is a Nurse Consultant at SAIF Corp, Oregon’s largest Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier. During her tenure with SAIF, Chris has been a Nurse Supervisor and Project Coordinator, Medical Programs Manager, and Nurse Consultant. SAIF is known for its support of employees’ professional development. It provides flexibility that allows staff to be engaged in professional activities. 

 Medique Pharmaceuticals is an avid sponsor of occupational health. This award highlights Medique’s commitment to the recognition of leaders in the field of occupational health nursing.  Each year since 1991, the Medique Leadership Award has recognized occupational health nurses, who, as determined by their peers, have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership and participation in their State Association of Occupational Health Nurses and in other professional activities.  As leaders in occupational health nursing, they are seen as being an authority in the fields of health, safety, productivity, and disability management for worker populations. 

Chris’ employer, SAIF, held a ceremony in recognition of Chris award and service to the corporation. OSAOHN awarded her a $50* gift card. In addition to the plaque, Medique donates $400 to the chapter which is used to offset the costs of continuing education providership for occupational health professionals.
