Posted almost 3 years ago by Kate Wood

Planning your training budget for next year? 2023 is a GOSH year.

The Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health conference is one of the largest, multidisciplinary educational and networking opportunities in the pacific northwest. Put it on your calendar – March 6-9, 2023 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses President Jean Orchard, Secretary Linda Mueleveld and Board member Kate Wood have put together a range of topics for the conference.

March 6 will feature a three-hour panel and discussion on Lessons Learned from the COVID Pandemic.

On the panel you’ll meet Nurse Rebecca Pierce, PhD, MS, BSN with the Oregon Health Authority. Dr. Pierce became the State of Oregon’s COVID-19 Senior Health Advisor, instrumental in aiding the development of the OR-OSHA workplace COVID-19 rule. She is building Oregon’s Regional Infection Preventionist Program to increase capacity to respond to future communicable disease threats.

Hear from Nurse Georgia Latham, MS, RN, CCM, CLNC, COHN-S. Ms Latham worked through the pandemic providing services to fabrication operations in multiple states. Her responsibilities ranged from telephonic advice on worker isolation and quarantines, case management, work releases, onsite vaccination clinics, leave coordination and OSHA recordkeeping. The work is ongoing.

Just two of the nurses who will be presenting at GOSH 2023. Don’t miss it. Registration will begin after the first of the year.
