OSAOHN Budget passes at October 2022 Business Meeting - What's coming in 2023?
Posted about 2 years ago by Kate Wood in Occupational Health
Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses (OSAOHN) held the All-Member Business meeting virtually on October 4. OSAOHN is a local chapter of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN.) It is one of a handful of active chapters west of the Rockies. OSAOHN is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Like many local chapters, the elected, unpaid Board of Directors (BOD) give their time to meet the state’s requirements and members’ needs.
- The budget for the upcoming year was passed. It includes funding for several chapter awards and scholarship programs. Members can view these programs and apply on the chapter webpage on Nursing Network.
- OSAOHN will continue to reach out to members and followers through Nursing Network and Linked In, introducing chapter members, highlighting their accomplishments and promoting various continuing education opportunities. Follow us.
- The upcoming. March 6-9, 2023 Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference (GOSH2023) will feature several members of the BOD as well as other, impressive nurses actively contributing to worker health and safety. OSAOHN will have an information booth in the exhibit hall. And, a networking “Happy Hour” is being planned.
- In April 2023, the annual joint meeting with the Columbia-Willamette ASSP chapter will be in-person and (hopefully) streamed. We hope you will join us.
2024 will be the chapter’s 50th anniversary. At the Business meeting, President Jean Drevdahl-Orchid announced the chapter focus for 2022-2024 will be “Grow and Engage Membership.” We are looking forward to growing and engaging with you all.
