Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses - Welcome to 2023!

Posted over 1 year ago by Kate Wood

As a new year begins, the OSAOHN Board of Directors welcomes new members. Nurses who join or renew their American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) membership for 2023 can take advantage of the onetime Chapter dues waiver for OSAOHN.

This week (until January 9) OSAOHN members can apply for a March 8 scholarship to the Oregon Governer's Occupational Health and Safety (GOSH) conference. The scholarship will cover that day's registration, award luncheon, exhibit hall, OHN Networking Reception and applicable Continuing Education contact hours. Members apply by email to OSAOHN Secretary Linda Meuleveld at linmeu@comcast.net Members - Watch your email for more details from Linda.

Join us on January 12 from 4 to 5 pm PST for a virtual OSAOHN Membership meeting. GOSH scholarship winners will be drawn during the meeting. OSAOHN Board of Director and Membership Chair Meg Gustafson will speak about her experience as a Nurse Entrepreneur. Taking tools she developed as an OHN while serving several lumber mills in southern Oregon, Meg has brought "Nurse in a Bag" to market. Become inspired by her remarkable journey.

Learn, experience, network with workplace safety and health professionals March 6 - 9 at the Oregon Governor's Occupational Health and Safety (GOSH) Conference at Portland's Oregon Convention Center. Receive applicable CEU. Visit the OSAOHN Booth in the exhibit hall. Meet other OHNs at the networking Happy Hour. Go to oregongosh.com for developing information.

On April 13 from 11:30 to 1 pm, attend the annual joint lunch meeting of OSAOHN and the Columbia-Willamette Chapter of ASSP in person at Brix Tavern in Tualatin.  Speaker Nichole Guilfoy, Health Management Consultant with Providence Health Plan will provide a one-hour presentation on Recognizing and Preventing Burnout.
